Forced to fly home New Zealand allrounder Chris Harris will return home to be examined by a specialist after injuring his shoulder while fielding in the second one-day international of the Chappell-Hadlee series against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The veteran, who left the field immediately for an MRI scan, has reportedly tore the rotator cuff in his right shoulder.
Harris, however, showed a great deal of courage to come out and bat at no.11 in the Black Caps run chase.
In the end it was all in vain as Australian paceman Glenn McGrath clean bowled the left-hander for four to hand the home team a 17-run victory which leveled the three-match series at 1-1.
The 34-year-old will be properly diagnosed when he arrives in his hometown of Christchurch.
